Sept. 3, 2008 — As you may have heard, Alliance for Work-Life Progress has started a virtual book club as a complimentary platform to bring work-life and total rewards professionals together to discuss a selected publication. Our first discussion will take place Oct. 15 on Stewart Friedman’s Total Leadership: Be a Better Leader, Have a Richer Life. We are hoping this dialogue, moderated by 2008 Rising Star Danielle Shanes, will attract work-life as well as total rewards professionals. I am writing to you today to ask if you’d help us spread the word. The book club is free; participants just have to read the book. We’re hoping to pick another selection for a future discussion if this round is a success.
And as always the next two months mark a busy time for AWLP as we anticipate nominations and applications for the AWLP Work-Life Rising Star and Work-Life Innovative Excellence Awards. Applying and nominating is free and open to all from Sept. 15 through Nov. 14. We are spreading the word about this as well, and we hope you’ll help us find amazing work-life professionals and programs to recognize.
