Carla Kaufman accepted a new position as Senior Officer of Employee Health & Wellness at Fort Worth Independent School District. The new role will include employee health and wellness and will go far beyond the traditional activities usually associated with the field. Three major responsibilities will be to increase employee retention, improve working conditions for employees, and provide employees with supports and tools so that they can better manage their work and personal responsibilities.

Rosalind Barnett, Research Director -- Community, Families and Work Program at Brandeis University, was recently named the 2008 recipient of the Anne Roe Award from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. This award was created in 1979 and named for Anne Roe, the first woman tenured in the Harvard Faculty of Education (1963). The award in her name is presented biennially to an individual who has contributed significantly in the field of education to advance women's professional growth and who provides a model of leadership and excellence to women. 7/31/08
