AWLP Issues Call for Presentations for 2005 Conference

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Alliance for Work-Life Progress® (AWLP) is now accepting presentations for workshop sessions at its 9th Annual Conference, scheduled for Feb. 9-11, 2005, at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Known as the premier gathering of work-life professionals, the AWLP conference will highlight current work-life practices, trends and their impact on employees and businesses. Approximately 400 work-life and human resources professionals from a variety of organizations throughout the United States, Canada and other countries are expected to attend.

The suggested topical categories for presentation submissions are:

  • Changing demographics and definitions of today's workforce - family, multi-generational, global.
  • Trends and direction in dependent care.
  • The bottom line impact of employee health, wellness and well-being.
  • Influencing organizational environment and culture.
  • Connecting with men and women as stakeholders in work-life initiatives.
  • Building a flexible workplace.
  • Community connections - corporate citizenship, community collaborations, public policy initiatives.

Although these topics are suggested, AWLP is seeking a range of content submissions.

The Call for Presentations entry period is from July 19 to Aug. 20, 2004. Interested parties should go to the AWLP web site at www.awlp.org/callforpresentations/ to use the electronic submission process.

AWLP reviewers, who have expertise in the subject areas being evaluated, will appraise each proposal based on the topic's relevance to the conference audience. Reviewers will consider a variety of presentation formats, including case studies, "how-to" approaches, senior-level strategic viewpoints and information for the emerging practitioner. Presentations must be educational and not a platform for selling products or services.

Respondents will be notified electronically regarding the status of their conference presentation proposal after Oct. 1, 2004.
