Work-Life in the Spotlight at Annual AWLP Conference
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. - Work-life professionals from across the country will be gathering in Phoenix for the upcoming 8 th Annual AWLP Conference, Progress in Motion . Known as the premier gathering of work-life professionals, the conference is set for Feb. 18-20 at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa.
The conference will highlight current work-life practices, trends and their impact on employees and businesses in two programming tracks: telework and international. Attendees will hear some real-life experiences from such companies as Citi Group, Abbott Laboratories, JPMorgan Chase, Verizon Communications, Mayo Clinic, Wachovia, IBM, Motorola and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.
Some of the conference topics include the investment impact of work-site childcare, working fathers, eldercare impact, corporate and individual well being, childcare in the military and assessing the ROI of work-life programs.
Attendees also will hear from two outstanding keynote speakers: Bruce Tulgan, renowned author and speaker on the Gen X and Y workforce and U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Assistant Secretary for Labor Standards Victoria Lipnic. Tulgan will discuss the generational shift in the workforce and how companies can turn the age diversity of four generations into an advantage. Lipnic, who reports directly to DOL Secretary Elaine Chao, will provide insights about government programs and initiatives that impact work-life. Carol Evans, president and CEO of Working Mother Media, also is a featured speaker.
In addition, recipients of the ninth annual Innovation Excellence Awards will be introduced. Cendant Mobility, Northern Illinois Collaboration and Verizon Wireless are being honored for their program or initiative that demonstrated a model of excellence for the work-life field.
