SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Kathie Lingle, most recently National Work-Life Director at KPMG LLP, has accepted the newly created position as Director of the Alliance for Work-Life Progress® (AWLP), effective Feb. 16, 2004. In this new capacity, she will help build and expand the products and services available to AWLP members as well as collaborate with other WorldatWork leaders on expansion and integration of the work-life component of WorldatWork's total rewards model. She will report to Executive Director Anne C. Ruddy, CPCU, and will be based at AWLP/WorldatWork headquarters in Scottsdale, Ariz.
AWLP became an affiliate organization of WorldatWork on Nov. 20, 2003.
Lingle has a strong background and national reputation in the work-life field as well as 25 years experience in a variety of corporate leadership roles. At KPMG, she was responsible for creating and implementing workplace strategies that support inclusion and the work-life effectiveness of KPMG's 18,000 U.S. firm members. She has worked closely with the senior leadership team over the past five years to help create the architecture for an innovative culture change initiative that has continued to serve the firm well on its journey to become an employer of choice.

Before her tenure at KPMG, Lingle was director of work-life training at the Families and Work Institute in New York where she assisted in the design and delivery of work-life training for managers at both First Tennessee Bank and the former Chase Manhattan organization. She also has been an organizational effectiveness consultant at Watson Wyatt as well as a market researcher, trainer, strategic planner, software sales manager and child development specialist.
A member of the steering committee of the Boston College Work/Life Roundtable, Lingle recently was appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Executive Committee for Work-Life and Women's Initiatives. She has just completed a term as co-chair of the Conference Board's Work-Life Leadership Council. Lingle served in the Peace Corps in South America and has lived in Spain, France, Chile, Venezuela and England. She has a bachelor's degree in international relations from Occidental College and a master's degree in child development and family relations from Ohio State University.
