Work-Life Conference to Address Balancing Act Issues
Event in Phoenix, Ariz., to draw more than 300 HR practitioners and thought leaders from around the world

What does the workplace of the future look like for workers across the globe? Will we be working longer or shorter hours? Will office space be phased out and workers able to work from anywhere? Will the workforce get older or younger? Will the workplace become more flexible and less rigid? These are just some of the questions that will be answered during the annual Work-Life Conference and Exhibition to be held Feb. 21-23, 2007 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa.

Ted Childs, Jr., a nationally acclaimed speaker and former IBM vice president of Workforce Diversity, is scheduled to kick off the three-day Work-Life Conference. Childs is one of Working Mother magazine's “25 Men Friends of the Family.”

Childs will discuss the challenges of managing different types of background, experiences, genders and cultures and he will explore the workforce by age and specific generational differences. Other speakers will share innovative initiatives for such topics as retaining older workers and improving work-life balance among dads.

The Work-Life Conference is sponsored by Scottsdale-based WorldatWork and Alliance for Work-Life Progress. It will highlight the latest trends in work-life balance and employee rewards.  Workshops will be led by work-life directors from companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, Scottsdale Healthcare, IBM, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, Mercer HR,  Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. and Citigroup, to name a few.

Now in its 11th year, the Work-Life Conference draws more than 300 HR practitioners, corporate leaders and exhibitors from around the world.
