Alliance for Work-Life Progress Executive Director to TestifyBefore Senate Subcommittee on May 4
The Senate Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce, and the District of Columbia have invited Kathie Lingle, executive director of Alliance for Work-Life Progress at WorldatWork, to testify at its hearing titled, “Work-life Programs: Attracting, Retaining and Empowering the Federal Workforce.”
The hearing, which takes place on May 4 during Public Service Recognition Week, will examine how the federal government can improve employee engagement and satisfaction through the use of work-life programs. Ms. Lingle’s testimony will focus on the ways in which work-life initiatives make sense from a business perspective.
“Increasingly, we see that when work-life programs are embraced, there is a positive return for employers and employees in the form of reduced stress, burnout and job dissatisfaction,” said Lingle. “It also leads to work environments that are associated with enhanced business outcomes, such as increased levels of workforce attraction, retention, engagement and productivity. In sum, work-life programs are equally good for business as they are for the workforce — an optimal win‐win situation.”
Time/date/location:
2:30 p.m. on May 4, 2010 in Room 342 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building
